SEDEX
The ore-bearing zone occurs within the Haft-har unit, which consists of carbonaceous, fine-grained black siltstone and shale with intercalated volcaniclastic sandstone. Limestone and massive cherty dolomite of the Mila Formation with thrust fault cover the ore-bearing shale and siltstone in the Haft-har area. Sulfide mineralization occurs as a single wedge within the organic matter-rich siltstone and shale. The ore-bearing host rock is usually folded, whereas the more competent dolomite typically exhibits a brittle deformation resulting in extensive breccia zones cut by late calcite veins.
