Located 16 miles west of Dubois, Idaho on Highway 22. Road cut is just east of the historical entrance to Lidy Hot Springs. Note: Lidy Hot Springs was acquired by a mining concern in the 1960's and was closed to the public. The deposit occurs in the road cut on both the north and south side of highway 22. The zone that contains the mineralization (probably cristobalite, etc, although has not been analyzed) is somewhat soft, grey in color and appears to be rhyolitic in origin. The cristobalite forms as hollow hemispherical vesicles within the grey matrix. The vesicles measure up to several inches in diameter although most are an inch or two in diameter.
