Bystrinskoe deposit
Porphyry skarn deposit.
Verkhny-Ildikan, Maly Medny Chainik, Yuzhno-Rodstvenny, and Bystrinsky-2.
The molybdenum mineralization in the deposit is a vein-hydrothermal type and forms well-defined linear stockwork localized in hydrothermally altered metagranites from the Kazan pluton and gneisses from the Pirdop gneiss complex. Three main stages are recognized in the formation history of the Bystrinsky deposit: (I) the magmatic stage at which magnesian skarn related to the intrusion of porphyritic diorite was formed; (II) the postmagmatic stage at which magnesian skarn was altered and calc skarn and synchronous quartz–feldspar altered rock (in igneous rocks) were formed; and (III) the hydrothermal (ore) stage at which calc skarn was altered and synchronous quartz–scheelite–molybdenite, quartz–sulfide, base metal, gold, rare metal, rare earth element, and quartz–carbonate assemblages were formed. Various hydrothermal assemblages were superimposed onto skarn and magmatic rocks and were accompanied by zoned distributed quartz-feldspar, quartz-sericite, argillic, and propylitic altered rocks. The formation of the main types of economic mineralization at the Bystrinsky deposit is linked to the ore stage of the mineral-forming process. At present, complex Cu–Au–Fe ore in skarn is the major economic type (0.3–16 wt % Cu, 42–49 wt % Fe, 0.12–0.42 wt % WO₃, 0.054–0.23 wt % Mo, 0.1–36 g/t Au, 0.2–34.4 g/t Ag).
