Holzen, Arnsberg, Sauerland, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Deutschland

Holzen is a district ("Stadtteil") of the city/municipality of Arnsberg in the Hochsauerlandkreis. In order to avoid confusion with places of the same name, it was also called โ€œHolzen vorm Luerโ€ in the past.

The village lies west of the Lรผerwald. Until the municipal reorganization, Holzen was an independent municipality.

The village of Oelinghauser Heide and the monastery of Oelinghausen also belong to Holzen, which at 25.45 kmยฒ is one of the largest districts of Arnsberg in terms of area.

Holzen is located west of the city of Arnsberg.

East of Holzen is the district ("Stadtteil") of Herdringen, to the north is the district ("Stadtteil") of VoรŸwinkel.

The town borders on the town of Menden (Sauerland) to the north-west and on the town of Balve to the south.

The borders used delineate the village/town of Holzen, not the full municipal district ("Stadtteil").
