GPS coordinates are from the old Brachmannsberg mine (first period), in the recent period the vein was worked from the Herzog shaft (a.k.a. Fluorite mine).

The Brachmannsberg vein is located 1.5 km N of Siptenfelde, between the Uhlenbach valley and the BeckstraรŸe (a forest road) and is running nearly parallel to both.

During the first mining period in the 18th century, fluorite was mined by a shaft, but the workings had to be stopped due to massive water problems.
In the 1980/90s, the vein was worked for fluorite (minor quality) by an adit ('Nord-Querschlag') from the fluorite-shaft (on the Biwend vein system at a distance of about 3 km to the South). There was also a shaft for ventilation and as an emergency exit.

After closing the fluorite-shaft, an adit was built to the lower Uhlenbach valley, near the Selke river, to drain the mining system of the fluorite-shaft. The excavated material of this adit now covers the mining area from the 18th century.

This vein's character of mineralisation is noticeably different from the veins south of them (e.g. Biwend vein system and StraรŸberg-Neudorf vein system).
