About IncomsartoriteHide

08626340017271926581694.jpg
Wolfgang Sartorius von Waltershausen
Formula:
Tl6Pb144As246S516
Crystal System:
Monoclinic
Member of:
Name:
Named after its relationship to sartorite and its incommensurate ("immeasurable") structure (even though it is roughly monoclinic).

Sartorite itself was named after Wolfgang Sartorius von Waltershausen (17 December 1809, Gƶttingen, Germany - 16 March 1876, Gƶttingen, Germany), Professor of Mineralogy, University of Gƶttingen, Germany. He was the first to describe the mineral.
Sartorite homologous series. Interestingly the structure is incommensurate, but it is approximant monoclinic.
