A Au-Ag-Cu-Fe-Zn-Pb mine located in sec. 32 and/or sec. 36, T14S, R38E, MDM, 4.0 km (2.5 miles) SE of Beveridge, along Hunter Canyon, just S of Bighorn Spring (2.5 miles NE of New York Butte. Property extends from Little Hunter Canyon on the N, across Craig Canyon on the S), on Bureau of Land Management wilderness land (Inyo Mountains Wilderness). Property consisted of 34 claims. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.

NOTE: MRDS file #10036136 states "Land unsurveyed. Location very questionable" and places this mine in sec. 36. MRDS file #10285230 describes its location in quite specific terms and places it in sec. 32.

Mineralization is a vein deposit with 2 veins, hosted in quartz monzonite and dolomite. The ore body strikes NE, NW and dips 78SW at a thickness of 3.35 meters. Controls for ore emplacement included a fault. A "quartz blow-out" occurs on the S end of the property, 50 feet in thickness and exposed on surface for 150 feet in length. The vein is mineralized with sulfides. The principal vein, known as the Gold Standard, occurs along a fault, and is 4 to 11 feet in thickness. It can be traced on surface for 2,100 feet, 1,200 feet of which lies along a limestone contact. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges) and/or Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 1 (Mojave Desert and Death Valley area).

Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of an open cut on the quartz blow-out on the southern end of the property. The Gold Standard vein is developed by 4 tunnels, the longest of which is 150 feet.

Production data are found in: Tucker, W. Burling & Reid J. Sampson (1938).

Several shipments of sorted ore were shipped to the smelter and carried 3 ounces Au, 58 ounces Ag, and 11% Cu. No Specific production records were found.
