The Pontiac Silver Mining Co. Ltd did extensive exploration, including several shafts, trenches, and adits between 1908 and 1943. The coordinates are the approximate location for the most intense activity taken from the Ontario MDI database. No production was recorded.
Geology:
Steeply dipping WNW trending Keewatin sediments intruded by Haileyburian lamprophyre, outcrop in the S part of the property. These are overlain by Nipissing diabase 300' thick in the N. part of the property. In the SW corner, the Cross Lake olivine diabase dike (of Keweenawan age) cuts the Keewatin and Hailyburian rocks in an NW direction. An NNE fault with downward displacement on the E side crosses the property.
