Large quantities of Bazhenovite were found in 1995-96 close to an overhanging cliff, by a concrete runway down to the beach.
It is thought that the Bazhenovite formed in an old holding tank in the water and sewage treatment plant above the cliff and that on its removal in 1995, it had been broken up and deposited on the beach.
