The Shag Rock Mn occurrence is located at Klashwun Point, at the north end of Graham Island, Haida Gwaii, just north of Indian Reserve 13, about 38 kilometres west-northwest of the community of Masset, British Columbia.
There is a description of the geological setting and work history for this property on the British Columbia โ€œMinfileโ€ site, current to 1989. Relevant portions on geology are quoted below:
โ€œThe area is underlain by Tertiary volcanics of the Masset Formation consisting of amygdaloidal basalts, basalt flows and porphyritic andesite sills which strike north to northeast and dip 15 to 20 degrees east. A fault, striking 015 degrees and dipping 80 degrees east, crosscuts the lavas. East of the fault, the lavas are underlain by 23 metres of dark-grey shale and buff-coloured, calcareous shale to sandstone, which resembles the Queen Charlotte Group, Cretaceous Skidegate Formation.
The fault is filled with 1.5 to 4.5 metres of volcanic breccia, cemented by manganese minerals comprised mainly of manganite, pyrolusite,โ€œhousemannite (sic)โ€,and jacobsite. Veinlets of manganite also extend into the volcanic rocks in the footwall. The showing is exposed along shore for about 168 metres. The manganese values assay up to 50 per cent and average 15 per cent manganese. At the northern end of the exposure a higher-grade lens measuring 15 by 2.4 by 1.5 metres contains between 30 to 40 per cent manganese (Minister of Mines Annual Report 1960, page 11).โ€
I (Giles Peatfield) have been able to find no more recent work on the property than what is reported in Minfile.
There are no resource estimates available for the occurrence.

Comments by Giles Peatfield on some of the minerals reported from the locality:
Adularia?: Reported by Sutherland Brown (1968), but with no analytical data.
Jacobsite: Reported by Sutherland Brown (1968), but not by Petruk in his detailed examination of material from the occurrence.
All other minerals listed were identified by Petruk (1963).

Comments by Giles Peatfield on the rock types reported from the locality:
Sutherland Brown (1961; 1966; 1968) makes the point that the shale is โ€œcalcareousโ€.
The breccia is made up of basalt fragments ranging from 60 centimetres down to a few millimetres (Sutherland Brown, 1961).
