A former Zn-Pb-Cu-Ag-Au mine located in sec. 17, T24S, R58E, MDM, 5.6 km (3.5 miles) WNW of Goodsprings and E of Shenandoah Peak, on private land. Discovered and first produced in 1901. Closed in 1952. Owned by the Yellow Pine Mining Co. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters. The Prairie Flower Mine became connected underground to the Yellow Pine Mine at an unknown time and was subsequently worked as one mine.

Mineralization is a Pliocene polymetallic replacement deposit (Mineral occurrence model information: Model code 72; USGS model code 19a; Deposit model name: Polymetallic replacement; Mark3 model number 47), hosted in the Yellow Pine limestone. The ore body strikes N30E and dips 45NW. Controls for ore emplacement included the permeability of the limestone. Galena was probably the most abundant mineral, but later mimetite was much more common. Associated rocks include Paleocene to Mississippian granite. Local rocks include limestone and sparse dolomite, siltstone, and sandstone.

Regional geologic structures include major faults in the district which make a reticulate pattern. Local features include the NW limb of the Porphyry Gulch anticline, which is broken by many faults.

Workings include underground openings with a length of 426.72 meters and an overall depth of 121.92 meters.
