A nickel mine located a few km NE of Kambalda. East of the Juan Complex.

Outcropped as a few small Ni rich gossans. Production began 1969, from two shafts and 8 levels by the early 1980's, when the mine closed once the ore available had been exhausted.

Host is dark green antigoric serpentine, with relict igneous olivine to the east, and talc-carbonate rocks to the west. Locally shows quartz, talc, and carbonate veinlets. The Footwall is metabasalt, with thin layers of amphibolite, and thin layers of metabasalt with hornblende prisms.

The Durkin shoot is 1500 metres long, dipping north north-east by 40 degrees. A large intrusive granitoid truncates the shoot to the east. Sources have divided the shoot into three structures, named West, Central, and East.

The near surface ore is supergene violarite-pyrite, with relict chalcopyrite. The underlying transition zone contains pyrrhotite, pentlandite, violarite, pyrite, chalcopyrite, and rare cubanite. Primary ore grades at 16% Ni. Some blebby ore is found in the deposit, of pentlandite, millerite, pyrite, pyrrhotite, magnetite, and chromite.
