The kornerupine locality was a quartz-rich lens in an anthophyllite-cordierite bearing gneissic rock outcropping near the lake Hullvann at Bjordam in Bamble (southern Norway). The remnant of the vein which is considered empty, is underwater and inaccessible (status 2025).
