About Giraudite SubgroupHide

Formula:
Cu6(Cu4 C2+2)As4Se12Se
In the A-site, group end-members contain six III(Cu+Ag) cations, where Cu>Ag.

C2+ = Fe2+, Zn, Cd, Hg and/or other species
Biagioni et al. (2020) delineate the series of Ag-poor giraudite, where Ag < 3 apfu, belong to the hakite series.

Although considered a series, there is presently only one IMA-recognized end-member giraudite. However, the existence of suspected additional members has been reported although these compositions have not been IMA approved. Hence, to accommodate these likely future recognitions, the "giraudite series" is here treated as the "Giraudite Subgroup" of the Tetrahedrite Group.
