About Spinel SubgroupHide

Formula:
A2+D3+2O4
A = Fe2+, Mn2+, Mg2+, Co2+, Zn2+, Ni2+D = Fe3+, Cr3+, Al3+, V3+
X = O2-
Note: the D site, named as B in the IMA Proposal 17-H, was named here D to avoid confusion with boron.
The Spinel Subgroup is a subgroup of the Oxyspinel Group in the Spinel Supergroup, and with divalent cations in the A site, and trivalent cations in the D site.

Unique IdentifiersHide

Mindat ID:
52933
