A former Mn mine located in sec. 2, T4S, R4E, MDM, 3.0 km (9,900 feet) SSW of Castle Rock (2000 feet NW of the Ladd Mine), on private land (fee ownership). Owned by E. L. Lake et al (100.00%), Lakewood, Ohio 44107 (1975). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in rocks of the Applegate Group, Franciscan complex (Late Cretaceous chert). The ore body is 60.96 meters (200 feet) long, strikes N45W, dips 75W, at a thickness of 2 meters, a width of 10 meters and a length of 65 meters. The ore body is sedimentary. Primary mode of origin was sedimentation and the second mode was metamorphism. Primary ore control was bedding and secondary was lithology. There is slight wallrock alteration. The ore is manganese oxide to 8 feet in thickness in the upper levels, and carbonate and bementite in the lower levels. Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan Complex, unit 1 (Coast Ranges) and/or Plio-Pleistocene and Pliocene loosely consolidated deposits.

Workings include unspecified underground openings.

Analytical data results: Average grade is 20 to 30% Mn.
