A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 15 & in the N½SW¼ sec. 22, T13N, R9E, MDM, 2.6 km (1.6 miles) NNE of Grizzly Bear House (¾ mile NW of the Butcher Ranch). Owned by E. J. Power, E. J. Young, & Henry F. Powers (1935). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters. Not the same claim as the North Star Mine in sec. 34, T16N, R10E (Dutch Flat District).

NOTE: Clark (1970a) documents the presence of a North Star Mine in the Damascus District (without coordinates or T&R data). USGS MRDS database file #10007728 states that this mine is in the Damascus District; however, the geographic coordinates presented in the 2 MRDS files place it in sec. 15 & sec. 22, respectively. This is a very significant distance from Damascus and its mines. There are no other "North Star" claims or mines in the MRDS database that are located in the Damascus District.

The ore body is 2.13 meters thick. The vein is 7 feet thick. Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided.

Workings include underground openings with a length of 51.82 meters and comprised of tunnels (adits/drifts ??).
