Owner Nevada Irrigation Dist. 1948. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
NOTE: Bulletin 144 shows locality in sec. 3, but only Cu prospect resembling this is in sec. 5 per folio 18. USGS MRDS database file #10032042 states sec. 9.
Mineralization is a vein deposit. The ore body is lenticular in form at a thickness of 3.05 meters and a length of 27.43 meters. The vein channel is 50 to 60 feet wide but the more highly mineralized portion constituting the ore is from 20 inches (50 cm) to 10 feet thick. The ore occurs as lenses. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 134.11 meters and an overall depth of 36.58 meters, comprised of a 120 foot deep shaft with a 100 foot drift running N. Another 120 foot shaft was sunk with drifts at 50 and 100 feet levels. A crosscut was driven from one shaft 65 feet W.
10 carloads of ore averaging 20% Cu were shipped in the 1860's.
