A former lode Au mine located in the NW¼NW¼ sec. 24, T7N, R10E, MDM, about 2.35 km NE of Drytown, S & E of Dry Creek (stream), on private land. Operated by W.F. Detert (estate) (1953). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in slate and diorite. The ore body strikes NW and dips 60NE. No further description of the vein except that it has a slate footwall and a diorite hanging wall. Minor sulfides are associated with free gold. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 195 foot adit and a 310 foot inclined shaft.
