Structure: Relief Fault (Thrust)-N40w ; Reg.Trends: N 40 W Anticline Trending N60w;

Alteration: Silicification

Tectonics: Basin And Range

Deposit: A vein 10 to 14 inches wide striking n40 W and dipping 30 degrees s W contains cinnabar, stibnite and limestone fragments. The vein is continuous for 40 ft. The vein is localized along the contact of sandstone and overlying dolomite, and cinnabar fills fractures. Discovered in 1924. Developed in 1929 by nevada quicksilver co. Worked by various lessees from 1933. In 1960 the mine was being drilled by utex exploration co. A vein 10 to 14 inches wide striking n40 W and dipping 30 degrees s W contains cinnabar, stibnite and biecciated fragments of limestone. Vein is continuous for 40 feet. The hill that contains the mme is dominantly a broad asymmetrical anticline whose axis trends about n60 degrees w. Within the anticline are several broken zones and faults of small displacement. The ore is localized along the upper contact of the sandstone and in the overlying dolomite. ; info.src : 1 pub lit

Deposit type: Hot-spring Hg

Development: Developed in 1929 by nevada quicksilver co. Worked by various lessees from 1933. In 1960 the mine was being drilled by utex exploration co.

Geology: Ore bodies largely due to the filling of fractures in dolomite and buff sandstone by cinnabar. Simutaneous deposition of cinnabar and stibnite. Deposits are folded and faulted into n W trending ridges. South part of area-fanglomerate; north-basalts. ; geol.desc: simultaneous deposition of cinnabar and stibnite ; major.units: upper tri - lower jur sedimentary rocks

Rock formation(s): Diabase Dikes
Lower Unit Of Post-Dun Glen Strata, Silty Argillite And Clean Sandstone; Includes Dolomite Bx-Cgl

Ore(s): Fractured Dolomite And Sandstone; Ne Limb Of Anticline
