The Kongquegoubei gold deposit is situated in the southeastern part of the Kumishi metallogenic belt. The main strata in the ore district comprise the Lower Silurian Wuyongbulake Formation (S1wn1), the Middle Devonian Sa’a’erming Formation (D2s3), and locally distributed Quaternary sediments (Q). The primary ore-hosting unit is Wuyongbulake Formation, which consists of shallow marine fine clastic rocks that have undergone low-grade metamorphism. Three Au orebody–alteration zones have been identified in the Kongquegoubei deposit, namely Sb1, Sb2, and Sb3. The main Au orebody–alteration zone, Sb1, occurs within a NE–ENE-trending structural fracture zone controlled by the F1 fault. It is hosted by the Lower Silurian Wuyongbulake Formation and is approximately 2.7 km long and 0.5–3 m wide, with an overall attitude of 170–180°∠50–70°. This Au orebody–alteration zone is characterized by strong limonitization, pyritization, silicification, and epidotization. Trenching has continuously exposed mineralized bodies for more than 800 m, with Au grades of 0.28–24.1 g/t and ore-intersection thicknesses of 1.0–3.3 m. Gold mineralization predominantly occurs in limonite-altered quartz veins, limonite-bearing silicified quartz schist, and fault gouge. Three hydrothermal mineralization stages are recognized at the Kongquegoubei gold deposit on the basis of mineral assemblages and vein crosscutting relationships: (1) a quartz–pyrite–gold stage, (2) a quartz–polysulfide stage, and (3) a quartz–calcite stage.
