One of the main mines in the Cieneguilla trend along the northern flank of the premineral porphyry intrusion. Best known for the Cueva del Diablo (Cave of the Devil) from which numerous superb calcite specimens were recovered in the late 1980s. The cave appears to have developed because of oxidation-related volume reduction and become completely lined with war-club like stalactites and other unusual formations. The cave was encountered during mining and would have been destroyed if not collected.
