The most south-easterly section of the Great Consolidated Mines (Consols) group.
It worked a branch of Fortune Lode (Cusvey Lode) and lies to the south of and parallel to the Wheal Fortune section.
Operations were centred on Shears Shaft, where ruins of the pumping engine house and winding engine house still survive.
The plans of the Cusvey section show workings extended down to the 150 fathom level.
