Minor Pb-Cu-Zn-Fe stratabound mineralisation in Middle Triassic limestones (Muschelkalk), referred to as 'Bleiglanzbank' in the German literature. The outcrops around Villingen in dolomite and other bioclastic carbonates are free of Zn-bearing minerals though.
The 'Bleiglanzbank' was mainly exposed in a limestone quarry belonging to a brick factory, located approx. 3.5 km N of Villingen. Now refilled.
