This entry covers about 8 different localities within 50 km of Nuuk, the Capital of Greenland. In these localities Nuummite Nuuk A/S is mining a rock (not a mineral) characterizised by iridescent "orthoamphiboles" (Anthophyllite-Gedrite Series), given the unapproved tradename, Nuummite. This rock is found in more than 3 billion years old Precambrian rocks, in the Malene supracrustals.

One of the localities, in the Akulleq terrane, on the north coast of the Island of Simiuttat is mentioned in Champness and Rodgers (2000).
