A gold and silver mine, started in 1961 and closed in 1982.
The ore deposit of this mine is of a Neogene epithermal vein type, and consists of gold- and silver-bearing quartz-adularia-calcite veins. Eastern half area of this district is underlain by three thick formations of acidic pyroclastics consisting mainly of rhyolitic welded tuff. The Manzai No. 2 and No. 3 veins and the Hon-pi vein are the major veins in this mine. The Au-Ag mineralizations in these veins are typically of so-called ginguro-type, which is characterized by black-colored bands consisting of very fine-grained Au-Ag minerals and some other ore minerals.
