Remembering the legendary Chuck Amato. 🏈
The former @packfootball coach, who spanned multiple decades of NC State athletics, died on Monday at the age of 80.
His 2002 Wolfpack team accomplished more than any other in school history, finishing with a program record 11 victories and beating heralded Notre Dame in the New Year’s Day Gator Bowl. Amato’s teams were 49-37 in his seven seasons, with additional postseason victories.
“He pushed us to limits that we didn’t know we had,” said former captain Clayton White. “He brought so much personality and persona to NC State, and we were all so proud of that.”
From NCAA champion runner to record-setting coach, Laurie Henes ‘92 has built a cross country dynasty. 🏆🏃

Do you prefer eastern or western barbecue sauce? 👀
What can usually divide a household in North Carolina has served as the secret to success for @ncstatecnr’s Dr. Chris DePerno. As the creator of Slobberin’ Sauce — the latest co-branded NC State product — Dr. DePerno combined an eastern vinegar tang with a western tomatoey-based finish.
“It’s a really great sauce to unite family and friends around the kitchen table,” he said.

The Martin family is the 2026 NC State Family of the Year! Abigail Martin, a Park Scholar and senior in @NCStatePoole, submitted the award-winning nomination. Her family traveled from Massachusetts for Parents and Families Weekend and was honored on the field at today’s game.
Abby said that her family didn’t just support her — they gave her the courage and space to build her own Wolfpack community. And despite having no prior connection to NC State, Abby says her parents haven’t missed a Wolfpack game on TV since she started attending in fall 2023.
The Family of the Year contest has become an annual tradition during Parents and Families Weekend. Hosted by @NCStatePFS, Family of the Year invites NC State students to honor and express gratitude for their parents and family members’ unwavering commitment and exceptional encouragement throughout their educational journey.
We go together like RED and WHITE. 🐺🤞

Happy Wellness Day, Wolfpack.
Academy Award-nominated actor, writer and filmmaker Jesse Eisenberg headlined this year’s The Human Factor Speaker Series, which took place in Stewart Theatre on Friday. The event showcased how stories connect us, shape us and sustain our humanity.
Dean Deanna Dannels led the conversation, which explored this year’s theme, “Preserving Human Stories.” Funded by private donations, the event brought the theme to life through conversations, music, film and voices from the NC State community.
“Keep telling your tales and writing your own narratives, and never underestimate the power of a story to change the world, for the better,” Dean Dannels said.
ℹ️ The Human Factor event lineup continues through November with an alumni panel of sports storytellers, a book drive, a second speaker, and more. Find your next THF event at the link in our bio.
