Youth golf programs to kick off Thursday in Upper Dublin

Any age is a fine time to begin a new hobby, and for many area youth, the sport of golf is becoming an ever-increasingly popular choice. In Upper Dublin Township, the Parks & Recreation Department has found a unique way to introduce young players to the game from the start.

Beginning Golf, a program for those ages 5 to 10, will be held each Thursday from 4:50 to 5:50 p.m. at E.B. Wright Park. The introduction to the sport will be hosted by instructors from Skyhawks, a local youth sports organization.

Courses will run from Sept. 24 through Oct. 22, 2026 and the cost per player is $144 for residents of the township, or $173 for nonresidents. The learning opportunity is aimed at “focusing on fun and repetition with a games-based approach that can be played on any surface,” said a release from the Township.

Those that participate will “learn putting and chipping, using specialized equipment to ensure success for players,” per the release. Those interested in Beginning Golf can register online here.

If you have a pro golfer in the making, that just can’t wait to be 5, there is also a Golf Tots program scheduled for Sept. 24 through Oct. 22, 2026, as well. Those ages 2 to 4 will be introduced to the game on Thursdays from 4 to 4:40 p.m. This course, too, will be held at E.B. Wright Park and is instructed by Skyhawks.

The cost is the same for the Golf Tots for both residents and nonresidents of Upper Dublin. Registration for Golf Tots can be found online here.
