Tank Encyclopedia was launched on December 4th, 2011. It was the brainchild of David Bocquelet, who initiated the website as an SEO (Search Engine Optimization) testbench and a place for his beautifully detailed illustrations. David worked alone on the website for quite some time, writing and illustrating most of our earlier articles. He was soon joined by more team members and, since its inception, the Tank Encyclopedia team has grown to approximately 80 members of multiple nationalities. In its current form, Tank Encyclopedia was born in 2014.

This page will serve as your guide to the people behind the scenes at your favorite armored history website, from Writers and Illustrators to Editors and our YouTube team.

Do note that not everyone involved with Tanks Encyclopedia is listed here.

Alex Tarasov Russia

TE Publications Manager
Alex Tarasov is Russian who lives in Riga, Latvia. His passion about history and in particular a history of armored warfare, arose in his early childhood and remains to this day. Furthermore, Alex works as the Tank Encyclopedia Magazine Editor constantly trying to improve, enhance and make a better product for the readers. You can buy all online issues of our magazine and book here.

Kácser Gábor/“Gabe” Hungary
Audio Editor
‘Gabe’ joined Tanks Encyclopedia in February 2020, originally as a Writer. After his first writing trial however, he quickly found that he was not quite up to the task. He lurked around the Discord until June 2020, when he answered the call for help editing YouTube videos for the channel. Realizing his previous skills could be useful, he applied. A few days and with some assistance, the B2 Centauro was uploaded. Ever since, he’s been cleaning audio and gathering bloopers.
Julesans ? ? ?
Video Editor
Julesans first applied to be a Video Editor for Tank Encyclopedia after a casting call on 28th January 2023. He has since worked on numerous projects on both the TE and PE channel.
Much of his real life is very distinguished from his online persona, even in online business. Julesans still finds it weird being a medical student creating videos about military vehicles. Still, he enjoys doing it and gets to learn a thing or two about history which he can flex on his history nerd friend.
As for other hobbies, Julesans loves anime, video games, and the detective genre.

He collects history memorabilia and enjoys reading and discovering more about tanks, particularly during the Second World War. His other interests would be coding and marine life research.
