WalkthroughLPX manifest parsing now selects partition families from chip architecture and validates geometry using chip and device counts. XT and HX workload projection updates prop-sync selection, packing, replica counts, and connection generation. Test fixtures and rendered deployment snapshots use updated manifest inputs and generated digests. ChangesLPX manifest classification and workload projection

Previously reported defects still present:
- Original discussion: Still present: buildPartitionFromManifestV2 selects XT or HX from only the first compiled chip, so a partition containing mixed chip architectures can be assigned incompatible allocation geometry. Validate every chip architecture before dispatching to the family-specific builder.
- Original discussion: The mixed-chip-architecture defect remains present:
buildPartitionFromManifestV2still reads onlychips.List().Struct(0).Ptr(1)and dispatches on that first architecture without validating the remaining compiled chips. - Original discussion: The previously reported mixed-architecture validation defect remains:
buildPartitionFromManifestV2still reads onlychips.List().Struct(0)before selecting the partition builder, without verifying the remaining compiled chips. - Original discussion: This remains present at the reviewed head: buildPartitionFromManifestV2 selects the hardware family from only the first chip of the first compiled program, although architectures are stored independently for every chip. A mixed-architecture partition can therefore be normalized using incompatible XT or HX geometry. Validate all compiled chip architectures before dispatching to the family-specific builder.

Previously reported defects still present:
- Original discussion: Still present: packed LPU-only projections allocate a reduced scheduler partition set, but runtime ConfigMap data is still rendered from the uncollapsed logical configuredBuild.Partitions. For packed XT/HX cases such as 4x2c, agentReplicas and the LPX request allocate one Agent while resolvedPartitionData emits offsets 0..3, so later logical stages refer to Agent indices that do not exist. Carry the packed stage-to-node placement into runtime partition data so packed logical stages map onto the actual allocated Agent replicas.
- Original discussion: Still present: packed XT selected chains collapse scheduler reservations, but
resolvedPartitionDatastill renders each logical source partition fromconfiguredBuild.Partitionswith independent node offsets. For packed cases such as4x2c, the runtime config can reference offsets beyond the single allocated Agent replica; propagate the packed logical-to-physical placement into the rendered runtime partition data. - Original discussion: The packed PropSync runtime ConfigMap issue remains present. In the packed single-model paths, the scheduler request uses the packed
projection.partitionsand reducesagentReplicas, butresolvedPartitionDatastill iteratesprojection.configuredBuild.Partitions, which remains the original logical stage list. For packed layouts such as 4x2c or 6x4c,partition_node_offsetscan still enumerate more agent indices than were allocated, so later logical stages point at nonexistent Agent replicas.

Validate the original stage graph before replacing any scheduler reservationsmerely narrates the immediately following validation and packing operations without preserving a rationale or constraint. Remove this comment. - Original discussion: The
TestPropSyncProjection/HX maximum manifest node widthrow is still present. It reaches the same HX connection-budget rejection as the retainedHX aggregate connection budget exceededrow: both consume one oversized edge and fail on the second edge withexceeds 8192 logical connections, so the 4097-device boundary case still protects the supported behavior without the extra maximum-width row.

Resolve the conflict with LPX PropSync partition packing (ai-dynamo#15583): select remote partitions from the packed scheduler reservations, update configuredBuild only when a local selection exists, keep source-ID-based connector rebasing (which also skips packed chain members), and use literal topologies in the local-partition tests. Summary
Homogeneous subnode PropSync partitions currently reserve a separate physical node for each partition. Pack them into whole-node LPX allocations while preserving the logical partitions in runtime configuration. With eight chips per node, two 4-chip partitions or four 2-chip partitions need one Agent; six 4-chip partitions need three.
Details
Packed workloads require runtime images with packed PropSync support.
