@KnifeLemon I'd like to take this one and build it to your outline above. Here's the plan first.
Plan
A "Pages per sheet" (N-up) group in the PDF editing tools on the PDF donut's back face: 2, 4, 6, 8 and 9 pages per sheet. PDF in, PDF out ({name}_nup).
Preset options: pages per sheet, paper (A4 / Letter / A3 / same as the first page), orientation (auto / portrait / landscape), order (across first / down first), margin and gap in mm, and a thin border around each page (on/off).
Each page goes in as a vector form with PDFsharp (already in Filee), scaled to fit its cell, centred, and turned to match the cell. Nothing is rasterised, so text stays selectable and the file stays small.
Tests: sheet counts (e.g. 10 pages at 4-up โ 3 sheets), cell placement for both orders, rotated pages, mixed page sizes.
To check with you first
Is the PDF donut's back face the right place, or should it only be in the preset library? I won't change donut slots without your OK.
@cre8ive-marketing Thanks for taking this one, the plan looks good: vector forms with PDFsharp, the options and the test cases are what I had in mind. It's assigned to you.
On your two questions:
Placement: library (palette) only, no donut slot. That's how the recent editing tools came in (Annotate, Crop video for existing users), and it fits [Feature]: A rule for what Filee shows by default, before more formats are addedย #806's rule that existing donuts don't change. People add it from Settings โ Donut toolbar. Please don't add it to the new-install back face either for now. The PDF back face is full, and we'd rather decide what it replaces separately.
PDFsharp stays at 6.2.4 (later versions changed licence); XPdfForm there does what you need.
Page boxes: place each page by its crop box and its /Rotate, so cropped and turned pages land in their cell as they show in a viewer. One test with a cropped page would cover it.
PR is up: #1062. Palette only (no donut slot, not on the new-install back face), schema 63 library step, PDFsharp 6.2.4 XPdfForm, pages placed by crop box and /Rotate with a cropped-page and a rotated-page test.

On your two questions:
mainis at 62 now (feat(formats): Minecraft packs and Modrinth modpacks (Games field)ย #1048), so take 63. If another PR lands first with 63, move to the next one.Two small things while you build it:
XPdfFormthere does what you need./Rotate, so cropped and turned pages land in their cell as they show in a viewer. One test with a cropped page would cover it.cre8ive-marketing commentedon Nov 3, 2026

fix: place a /Rotate 90 or 270 page whole in its cell (KnifeLemon#737)
feat: pages per sheet (N-up) for PDFs (#737)
