[edit]

Someone prodded this, but the other article is a redirect. This sort of thing has happened before, but I can't remember what happened. Bearian (talk) 00:38, 25 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Can you elaborate? I don't see a prod in the recent history and I'm not sure which "other article" you're referring to. pburka (talk) 01:03, 25 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
This is the other one: Wé Ani. Bearian (talk) 14:55, 27 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Please keep listing these at WikiProjects

[edit]

Hey PROD people, thank you for all the good work. I was recently able to improve FC Herzogenbuchsee because @Bearian mentioned the PROD at WT:CH (WikiProject Switzerland). It would be great if y'all could list pages you PROD at relevant WikiProject talk pages, especially if they seem promising or could plausibly be notable. That way people who may have access to specialist sources or knowledge can help out. Best, Toadspike [Talk] 12:03, 27 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

If a project has User: AAlertBot enabled, any Prods come through on the daily report, along with AFD notifications, as long as the project is stated on the article talk page. I find this useful for the sporadic Jazz related articles nominations. AllyD (talk) 13:37, 27 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
I make an effort to warn as many projects as possible. Some of these old football stubs were created by long-retired editors. Bearian (talk) 14:56, 27 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

In the hatnote at the top of the page, change For community proposals, see WP:VILLAGE for the village pump, where editors can submit proposals. to point to WP:Village pump (proposals). 88.97.192.42 (talk) 14:55, 28 September 2025 (UTC) 88.97.192.42 (talk) 14:55, 28 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Increase of people placing WP:PRODs on talk page

[edit]

Hi all. I've noticed a bit of an increase in people placing WP:PRODs on talk pages for articles instead of the articles themselves. I patrol Category:Proposed deletions needing attention a bit and I rarely even had seen this error, but it's happened three times in the past eight days. Does anyone know if something has changed that would be responsible for this uptick? All the best! Casablanca 🪨(T) 15:18, 21 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

dePRODer undoing their dePROD?

[edit]

I just proposed en:File:2006NFLDraft.png for deletion. It was quickly dePRODed by its uploader, only for them to just as quickly undo their dePROD. Is doing such a thing allowed? JHD0919 (talk • contribs) 21:39, 3 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Do you mean "does this count as rePRODding"? Probably technically yes, but it seems reasonable for someone to promptly undo a mistaken dePROD. pburka (talk) 22:18, 3 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
In that case, I'll leave it alone unless someone else takes issue with the file being rePRODed. JHD0919 (talk • contribs) 22:34, 3 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Undoing your own edit is almost[dubious – discuss] never a crime. It acknowledges that you made a mistake. The sooner that you undo it, the easier people will feel about it. Better to admit it yourself than to leave it and have somebody else call you out on it. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 23:02, 3 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
I'm been contacted by admins when I've mistakenly deprodded and then undone my mistake. If you do it promptly and can explain your mistake, then no foul. Anyone who wants to be a stickler can, of course, send it to AfD. ~Kvng (talk) 15:41, 9 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Procedurally removed PRODs

[edit]

While going through the new pages feed today, I encountered a PROD at Florida Atlantic–South Florida football rivalry that was patently generated by a LLM. Per WP:HATGPT, I procedurally removed the PROD tag, which was later readded and then removed citing DEPROD. This case has made me wonder: should a page be eligible for PRODding if a previous PROD tag was removed for purely procedural reasons (such as HATGPT or WP:BMB/WP:BLOCKREVERT when a tag was added in violation of a ban or block)? Prod removed is Prod removed. I see very little upside to complicating the process. Jclemens (talk) 19:23, 6 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
