Happy Adminship Anniversary!

Wow, didn't realize it had been 18 years. Guess "admin me" has finally reached the age of majority lol. Best, SpencerT•C 20:10, 7 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

October 2026 Administrator Elections – Discussion Phase

[edit]

The discussion phase of the October 2026 administrator elections is officially open. As a reminder, the schedule of the election is:

  • October 8–12: Discussion phase (we are here)
  • October 13–19: SecurePoll voting phase
  • Scrutineering phase

We are currently in the discussion phase. The candidate subpages are open to questions and comments from everyone, in the same style as a request for adminship. You may discuss the candidates at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/October 2026/Discussion phase.

On 13 Oct, we will start the voting phase. The candidate subpages will close to public questions and discussion, and everyone will have a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for.

Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

October music

[edit]
story · music · places

Women: today Irene Butter (don't miss the short video in her story and article), yesterday Tabea Zimmermann for her 60th (I was in the audience for that concert in 2023, long video), and some day Ileana Cotrubaș again, whose article became GA today. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:18, 9 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

ITN recognition for Sam McDowell

[edit]

On 10 October 2026, In the news was updated with an item that involved the article Sam McDowell, which you nominated and updated. If you know of another recently created or updated article suitable for inclusion in ITN, please suggest it on the candidates page. PFHLai (talk) 06:19, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Rudin properties

[edit]

Hello, Spencer. Thanks for all your help with the 345 Park Avenue changes. I have posted requests on the Talk pages of two additional Rudin properties:

41 Madison Avenue

3 Times Square

Might you be willing to review these as well? The changes outlined in these requests are meant to bring the articles up to date and add missing information. Thank you again for your time and consideration, Sophie35967 (talk) 14:43, 12 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

October 2026 Administrator Elections – Voting Phase

[edit]

The voting phase of the October 2026 administrator elections has started and will continue until 19 October 2026 at 23:59 UTC. You can participate in the voting phase at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/October 2026/Voting phase.

As a reminder, the schedule of the election is:

  • October 13–19: SecurePoll voting phase (we are here)
  • Scrutineering phase

In the voting phase, the candidate subpages close to public questions and discussion, and everyone who qualifies to vote has a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for. Please note that the vote totals cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see an individual candidate's vote total during the election. The suffrage requirements are similar to those at RFA.

Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which will last for a few days, perhaps longer. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the results page (this is a good page to watchlist), and transcluded to the main election page. In order to be granted adminship, a non-recall candidate must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose), and a minimum of 20 support votes. Recall candidates must achieve 55.0% support. Because this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ("crat chats").

Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.
