DYK for Antalya-class torpedo boat
[edit]On 11 September 2026, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Antalya-class torpedo boat, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Ottoman Navy procured the Akhisar-, Antalya-, and Demirhisar-class torpedo boats (example pictured) from foreign countries as a diplomatic measure, instead of ordering warships for their capabilities? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Demirhisar-class torpedo boat. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (Antalya-class torpedo boat), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to nominate it.
Question
[edit]Hello, GGOTCC. I hope all is well. Since you are in MilHist and WPSHIPS, I was wondering if you could be my GA mentor, as those are the areas I am in, military and mostly naval. I will probably rarely do GA things since I haven't got time, so I won't be a pain in your backside very often with questions, but still it is good for me to have a mentor, as I will then be able to participate in GA rev circles. Let me know what you think, and I hope we can work together sometime soon. Your biggest fan,

- Hello @Thefakeslimshady777, thank you very much for reaching out! I am honored you asked me, and I happy to be your mentor. My first GA was last year, so I know what it is like to be a newbie. Please do not worry about bothering me - just leave me a message and I will get back to you as soon as I can!
- Also, sorry for the late reply. I recently injured my finger. GGOTCC 21:54, 5 October 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you, GGOTCC. Is there a formal process for assigning mentors, or is it more friendly cooperation? Also, yeah, it must be very hard taking exams at VT at the same time coordinating the Milhist with a broken finger lol. See you around. Your biggest fan,
This is Stan 01:24, 6 October 2026 (UTC)- You are my first mentee, and my understanding is that there is no official signup and this just a way for questions to be answered in a timely manner. You can mention having a mentor on a GA circle so someone does not remove you, and that would probably be it!
- Thank you for the kind words! I am doing this now since I actually have free time. And to be honest, I have not been able to do any coordinating yet :)
- Cheers! GGOTCC 03:52, 6 October 2026 (UTC)

FAC Co-Nomination of USCGC Dione
[edit]Hello GGOTCC,
We've discussed this before. I am going to be nominating USCGC Dione for FAC today. Can you confirm that you would like to co-nominate the article? You wrote much on the Thetis-class' development and specifications and you managed the A-Class review after my block.
TU OM, from Phoenix ‣ Talk // Contributions 16:09, 5 October 2026 (UTC)
- Sure thing! Thanks for the invitation, Phoenix! *Dione* has always been your baby. GGOTCC 03:41, 6 October 2026 (UTC)
