About Julgoldite SubgroupHide

Formula:
Ca2XFe3+2[Si2O6(OH)][SiO4](OH)2A
X = Mg, Fe2+, Fe3+

A = OH, O
Name:
Originally Julgoldite was named as a species, but later redefined as a subgroup with several species. Named in 1971 by Moore in honor of Julian Royce Goldsmith (26 February 1918, Chicago, Illinois, USA - 23 January 1999, USA), geochemist at the University of Chicago. He was an expert on feldspars and carbonates. He also served as president of the Geochemical Society, the Mineralogical Society of America, and the Geological Society of America.
An Fe-rich subgroup or root-name group of the Pumpellyite Group.

Click on any node to view relationships. Formula-derived relationship network for the group members above. Use Find related species to add formula-neighbour species outside the current group view. Solid links show inferred chemical differences; dashed violet links show same-formula crystallographic differences. Hydration states are not treated as relationship changes. These relationships do not imply any real-world substitution reactions between these species.
