New Coding Agent Index: Claude Code + Opus 5.5 on top, at $11.42 a task. Codex + DeepSeek V4.1 Flash: $0.39. ~29x the spend. Hard refactor? Worth it. Renaming a prop across 40 files? No chance. Routing tasks by difficulty is the real skill now.

A lot of my LLM calls aren't asking for text. Complaint or question? Invoice or receipt? Which team gets this ticket? So why am I paying for a JSON essay every time? Two weeks with Cloudflare's Clef-Flash. No output tokens. No broken JSON.

Target and Walmart helped build Google's Universal Commerce Protocol. Best Buy endorsed it. My agent asked all three for their UCP profile. 404. 404. 404. 9 Shopify stores answered. With a file Shopify wrote for them. Launch partner ≠ shipped. Who's actually live on UCP?

Sonnet 5.5 is a big step up from 5. Design near Opus. Code too, in my Go test. I still won't use it. Too pricey to be my cheap model. Not careful enough to replace Opus. DeepSeek V4.1 Flash: $1.20/M output at peak. Sonnet 5.5: $10. Where does it fit in your stack?

Am I the only one who thinks the new Apple Intelligence is incredibly bad? Two years of delays for an assistant that can't find emails, shipped as a beta, behind a waitlist.
