Hailing from Paris, France, Caravan Palace, are widely adored for both their musical prowess and the exhilarating experience they deliver, In about 15 years, the band has grown from a parisian jive sensation to a globalized pop act melding all kinds of influences and capable of tearing the roof off any venue or festival tent!.
The band initially started as a trio, fusing contemporary electronic beats with musical influences from vintage jazz sounds. Their ability to craft lush compositions with a variety of instruments and recording techniques quickly made a stir and, with the help of emerging social networks, they soon completed their lineup while seeing their demos get traction in the plugged-in community. After extensive touring in 2007, including performances at the Django Reinhardt Jazz Festival, their presence in the Paris music scene grew, leading to a recording contract with Café de la Danse.
Their self-titled debut studio album received critical acclaim for its authentic jazz elements and unique electronic flair. The album soon went platinum in France where the band's live performances gained momentum, with concert tickets selling rapidly even with minimal promotion. The subsequent album, “Panic,” was released in 2012 and swiftly became a fan favorite. It contributed significantly to the band's success on a more global scale, enabling them to participate in festivals like Coachella, Dour, or Paleo, as well as sell out club shows in most major European and North American cities.
Their third studio album, cryptically titled <I°_°I>, marked a shift for the band from a live sensation to a stats mastodon with the tracks “Lone Digger”, “Wonderland”, “Comics” and “Aftermath”, amassing billions of streams online.
Throughout their career Caravan Palace have consistently defied convention to become pop mainstays while keeping their cool, innovating their sound and refusing to follow the rules. The next logical step was for them to launch their own label Lone Diggers to release their fourth album Chronologic in 2019 featuring the hit singles Miracle and Moonshine.
With their new album Gangbusters Melody Club released in March 2024, the parisians will hit the road again this year!
Live reviews
Caravan Palace put on a truly spectacular show and got the whole place swinging. Their live performance featured a lot more live instruments than I had expected - the stage was littered with synths, guitars, trombones and violins galore - and this made it all the more enjoyable. The band were full of energy and brought their electro swing tunes to life during their one and a half hour set. The fusion of modern drum beats and more traditional instrumental performances that make up Caravan Palace’s distinctive sound made for an evening of retro fun that went down a treat with the entire audience. Everyone was dancing enthusiastically, both on stage and off, and the scat improvisations were a great addition to the show! With seven people on stage, there was a lot to watch, and there was never a moment where the energy levels dropped inside the venue. The atmosphere was electric and you couldn’t glance about without seeing some swing dancing going on around you. Even if you don’t think you can dance, you won’t be able to stop yourself from trying at any Caravan Palace gig.

Caravan Palace literally ooze nostalgia and jazz when performing live. The French outfit are a complete and utter joy and despite neither of their two albums making any real dent on the UK charts, as a nation we have welcomed them to our festivals with open arms due to the fact they are always assured to bring one hell of a swinging party.
The seven musicians onstage all work in perfect harmony and have clearly dedicated the time and effort to endless hours of practice which now pays off in the form of a faultless live performance. 'Queen' sounds almost note perfect to the record and you get to see the dissection of the percussion right before your eyes. The vocalists take the centre for 'Bambous' which features some of that delicious native French and once again adds to the jazz club intimacy of the situation. The whole crowd is expected to get involved during the danceable 'Jolie Coquine' before 'The Dirty Side of the Street' wraps things up in a fantastic crescendo of swing jazz. Vive La France!

Saw them last night (31/01/20) at The Albert Hall in Manchester. First time seeing them live and also my first gig at this quirky former Methodist Chapel. The warm up DJ was utterly forgetful but Caravan Palace put on a show that will long live in the memory. The blend of sounds, a mixture of techno and swing jazz was amazing. I've never heard anything like it live. And then there is the energy both on stage and in the audience. The whole venue seemed to be dancing as one despite there being very little room to move. I like the smaller venues as they help create a closer bond with the group and all the band members contributed tirelessly to ensure everyone participated. I can't wait to see them again. Best £25 I spent in a long time.

Got to the House of Blues for lunch and ate in order to pass the line, and got there two and a half hours early to pass the line. We were first in line to the Music Hall, and while waiting, the band walked directly in front of us out and then back in to the Music Hall about 5 minutes apart. The show was an experience of a lifetime, if you have not seen them live and in person, you're missing out on a great show. Not only were they sweating, but so was the crowd. The energy level stayed swingin' the entire time. The entire floor was flexing underneath us, and we were told the tvs in the restaurant downstairs were shaking. If you have the opportunity, don't miss the chance to see these great people live!

Absolute blast of a show. Took my brother who has never heard a song or even knows about this genre of music he had an awesome time. He even wished we had gotten up close and asked about another show. High energy and real musical talent is what you'll get from them. And if you're a fan like me you're going to be very excited song after song after song. Loved the concert love the band and can't wait till they comeback. If you have the chance it's definitely a good time!

Caravan Palace was great! They brought the energy and kept it up the whole time. Lots of fun and you can tell the band enjoys playing together and goofing around on stage. The crowd loved it and overall it was a blast. The one negative was the opening act, Akki, who was mixed quality during the whole performance. She would have moments of fun, but lots of dead time where the crowd was really not feeling it.

Doors opened at 7. The band didn't get on stage until 8:45 and there was no opener. They only played for an hour and a half.
The show itself was incredible, but someone should be smacked over the head if they think making everyone wait for that long and not even playing as long as everyone waited is a good idea.
Show should have started at 8:30 at the absolute latest.

Energetic, sexy, infectious beats and bags of fun. CaravanPalace managed to fill the barn-like Manchester Academy with swing, wit and musicality for a storming show. I took a gamble on this gig as I'd not heard any of their music before, but they managed to get this 50-something oldie dancing non-stop for nearly two hours. I'm definitely a fan now.

Great and amazing concert, little too loud but I really enjoy and can’t wait to see another one, great songs and enjoy singing together with Caravan Palace. I wish comes to more concerts not only for Caravan Palace but another favourite bands or artists, nice stuff and buying stuff to remember of this happy memories.

Being at the front of the crowd, up against the bar, we were able to see the show in full view. And must I say, they had quite a lively spectacle, complete with scat battles, clapping, jumping, and even swing dancing to their own music. They really had the crowd up to beat with the exhilarating tunes. Great concert!
