PlayStation Vita Critic Reviews

It pushes more boundaries and is a sharper satire than the other games in the series, as fine as they are, and that marks this one out as something special indeed.

A great JRPG for PS Vita and a remake that finally makes a tribute to the original game, improving it in every aspect. Maybe it's a bit too integralist, but just for this it’s perfect for all fans of the genre.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth2 provides many hours of gaming jokes, silly plot developments and strategic battles which adds up to a mostly lovable JRPG.

Re;Birth 2 is a great JRPG and fans of the series will be happy to return to Gamindustri on the PlayStation Vita - but the themes and the style of the game won't be for everyone.

It's clear that a lot of care and attention has gone into this game, and while it certainly won't appeal to everyone, we daresay that Gamindustri veterans will be delighted with the offering.

Even though it is not a revolutionary game for the genre, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re; Birth 2 Sisters Generation is a really good port from an excellent sequel of a PS3 game. If you are a fan of JRPS’s, love anime, visual novels and can tolerate all the “Moe” it has, this is a title you should try at least once.

While Rebirth 2 is a massive improvement over the PS3 version in terms of performance, I felt the newly included mechanics and playable characters didn’t quite add enough to warrant double dipping for those like me who have already finished the title once before.

If you have the original game, you probably won't find relevant additions here. It relies on the plot rather than on the gameplay, but if you think you'll like what this game has to offer, then buying it is probably the right choice.

It's not a traditional JRPG saga, but this second chapter can't stand up to its predecessor. There's some recycling in dungeons, and a general lack of new features. Still, it's an original take on a classic genre.

Ultimately, Re;Birth2 is not a top-tier JRPG in terms of polish, or even story, but it is a solid effort that looks very pretty on the Vita.
