Duo up for player of the year
Kevin Doyle and Shane Long have both been nominated in the Irish FA's official 2007 awards.
Doyle, 24, is a contender for the senior FAI international player of the year, along with Shay Given & Richard Dunne.
In addition, his brilliant long range strike away to Slovakia has been nominated in the goal of the year category.
These nominations are further recognition of Kevin's remarkable rise to fame with his country, having only made his debut for the Emerald Isle in March 2006.
He now has 15 caps, and has scored five goals.
Kevin won the FAI young player award in 2006.
Shane, 20, is now a contender for Kevin's crown in 2007, alongside Celtic's Aiden McGeady and Manchester City's Stephen Ireland.
Long has seven international caps, and three goals. His full debut only came in March of this year.
The awards take place on Sunday 3rd February and will be shown live on RTE in Ireland.
The goal of the year award is voted for by the public, so Royals fans will be able to help Kevin's bid in that category.
