This patch makes existing CSV quality checks and report output more reliable.

Fixes

  • Refuse report output that would overwrite the input CSV, including existing file aliases.
  • Evaluate completeness gates before rounding: 99.5% no longer passes a 100% requirement. Reports retain whole-number percentages; failure messages show the precise value.
  • Reject malformed field quoting instead of silently joining fragments. Spaces and tabs around quoted fields remain supported.

Installation

Requires Node.js 20 or newer.

npm install https://github.com/vugarbbakhishov-hub/csv-quality/releases/download/v0.4.3/csv-quality-0.4.3.tgz

Or download the attached tarball and run npm install ./csv-quality-0.4.3.tgz. This package is not published to the npm registry.

Validation

103 tests, type checking and ESM/CommonJS builds pass. The archive was installed in a clean project and checked through both module formats, the CLI, the README example, and the three fixes above. Development dependencies audit clean. CI covers Linux on Node 20/22/24 and Windows/macOS on Node 24.

The archive checksum is included in SHA256SUMS.txt:

Input remains buffered in memory. Input-file protection is not a lock against concurrent filesystem changes, and cannot identify a file feeding stdin.
