Releases

2.7.0 (3-11-26)

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 04 Nov 05:02
preview

✨ Features

  • Music Servers: Stream from your own Navidrome (or any OpenSubsonic server) or Jellyfin 10.11 and later, right alongside your local music. Add a server from the Folders page or during setup, and Nagi keeps its songs in step in the background.
  • Server Favorites & Plays: Favorites and play counts sync both ways, and songs you play are reported back to the server.
  • Server Playlists: Your server's playlists show up read-only next to your own, marked with the server they come from.
  • Server Details: Lyrics stored on the server are used first, and songs bring their composer, conductor and grouping.
  • Signing In Again: If a server stops accepting your saved sign-in, Nagi offers to sign in again instead of failing quietly.

πŸ”§ Improvements

  • Playback: The play button shows a loading ring when a song is slow to start, such as a stream from a busy server.
  • Privacy: Removing a Jellyfin server signs Nagi out of it, and the privacy policy describes what music servers receive.

2.6.0 (29-10-26)

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 30 Oct 05:12
preview

✨ Features

  • Album Covers & Artist Info: Albums without art now get covers from online sources, and tracks without their own art show their album's cover. Artist biographies can come from Wikipedia, artist images from Deezer, and artists missing a biography or image are checked again.
  • Discord Rich Presence: Shows the album cover, what you're listening to and the track's progress, with a timer that stays in step with playback.
  • Song Lists: Choose which columns song lists show, and open a song's details from its menu with Song Info.
  • Lyrics Translations: Translations in LRC files appear under the original line.
  • Windows Media Controls: Nagi now shares the track's length and position with Windows, so lyrics overlays and other media tools can follow and seek playback.
  • Scrobbling: Scrobbles now include MusicBrainz IDs and more track details, read from every tag format.
  • Command Line: Launch Nagi with nagi.exe from any terminal; the alias keeps working across updates.
  • Taskbar Jump List: Shuffle All Songs and Open Mini-Player now have icons.

πŸ› Bug Fixes

  • Media Keys: Play and pause from your keyboard or the Windows media controls now work like Nagi's own buttons, including starting your queue after playback stops.
  • Restored Queue: Songs that are no longer in your library are removed when Nagi restores your last session.
  • Covers & Artist Images: Album covers stay in step with their tracks and are rebuilt when cached images go missing, replaced covers are cleaned up, and artist images are found again.
  • Playlists: Fixed importing an M3U whose name is taken, deleting a smart playlist's cover, smart playlist date rules in your date format, and matching accented capital letters.
  • Folders: Nagi won't add a folder inside, or around, one already added. Folders that only hold subfolders can play all, and folder errors are shown instead of hidden.
  • ReplayGain: Files whose tags can't be written keep their ReplayGain, and scan failures are shown.
  • Stability: Playback, playlist and navigation failures no longer crash the app. Fixed the tray popup, dropping a file while playback is stopped, the seek slider, and the sleep timer when the playing song is removed.
  • Languages: Artist biographies come in your language, errors and Discord text are translated, and backup names use the Gregorian date in every language.

πŸ”§ Improvements

  • Accessibility: Settings inputs and the artist image menu now work with screen readers and the keyboard.
  • Consistency: Album pages match their sibling pages, the queue's total duration is formatted like every other duration, and the artist sort is labelled correctly.
  • Translations: Updated translations from the community on Crowdin.

✨ Features

  • Favorites & Listening History: Mark songs as favorites with Ctrl+D, filter your library by favorites, and search your recent listening history.
  • Listening Mixes: Choose More Variety to space out artists and avoid recent plays, Rediscover to revisit songs you haven't heard in 30 days, or Unheard to explore tracks you've never played. Play for… builds a queue around your chosen duration.

  • Audio Controls: Choose your audio output device and adjust playback speed from 0.5Γ— to 2Γ— without changing pitch.
  • Automatic Library Updates: Nagi picks up changes in your music folders automatically.

  • Taskbar Shortcuts: Shuffle All Songs and Open Mini-Player are now available from the taskbar jump list.
  • Plain Lyrics: Added a fallback for lyrics without synced timestamps.

  • ReplayGain: Corrected loudness measurement and prevented overlapping scans of the same files.
  • Window Behavior: Fixed maximized-window restoration when activating Nagi and improved layout preservation when minimizing.
  • Library & Queue: Fixed combined artist links, sorting refreshes, smart playlist previews, unstable recently played rows, and the current/upcoming tracks shown in Up Next.
  • Listening History: Playback history is finalized when the app exits.

πŸ”§ Improvements

  • Visual Polish: Refined page and player layouts, artwork transitions, queue/history panes, scroll edges, and backdrop handling.
  • Large Libraries: Improved search, metadata processing, and loading responsiveness.
  • Accessibility & Translations: Improved accessible names for controls and song lists, and updated translations.
  • Architecture: Separated shared application logic from the Windows UI in preparation for future platform work. This release remains Windows-only.
