Americae is a European academic journal that publishes research on American archaeology and is supported by the Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences (French: CNRS Sciences humaines et sociales) of the CNRS.
Overview
[edit]Founded in 2016, Americae is a peer reviewed, open-access online journal.[1] It publishes current research in archaeology, ethnoarchaeology, and ethnohistory from all regions of the Americas, and is intended for international professionals. The articles published are original contributions presenting theoretical or methodological advances, or previously unpublished results whose significance extends beyond the specific region concerned. Short, focused research notes are intended for a more specialized audience and may address a particular discovery, present specific analysis' results, or similar topics. The journal also publishes selections of articles presented at scientific forums as well as "reading notes".
Publications are not organized into issues; instead, they are published on a continuous basis according to developments in archaeological research.
The journal is hosted by the editorial unit of the Maison des Sciences de l'Homme Mondes (formerly the Maison Archéologie & Ethnologie René-GinouvÚs before 2020), on the campus of Paris Nanterre University.
