Meet Carter
Since 2021, Carter Page has worked on strategic policy issues in the Texas state government. He has previously served as a Fellow at the Center for National Policy in Washington where he primarily focused on energy and foreign policy issues. He has lectured extensively on policy issues worldwide and his past teaching experience includes service as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at New York University.
Carter Page was a founder of financial institutions focused on the energy sector. He is the former Chief Operating Officer of the Energy & Power Group at Merrill Lynch. As an investment banker, he has advised on a diverse range of strategic and financing transactions in the global commodities sector.
In 2016, Carter’s life was turned upside down when he suffered extreme and then-unprecedented punishment for volunteering for the initial Presidential campaign of then-candidate Donald J. Trump. Soon after, the aggressive lawfare tactics of the Obama-Biden Administration and their allies in the Democrat party worked in conjunction with the dishonest media to falsely portray Carter as a Russian asset or an “agent of a foreign power”. This assault on American democracy led to enormous damages, not only for Carter, but also President Trump and countless other innocent Americans. Perhaps nowhere have these irreparable harms been greater than right here in the epicenter of the world energy industry, Houston.
One year before her untimely death, U.S. Representative for Texas's 18th Congressional District Sheila Jackson Lee stood up against such extraordinary abuses of power by some segments of the federal government. Although her brave efforts to defend civil liberties failed at the time given weakness in Congress, Carter Page is committed to carrying out her legacy in such essential efforts to restore the integrity of the U.S. Constitution:
Carter is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, where he was a former International Affairs Fellow. In addition to multiple tours in the Middle East and Europe as a U.S. Navy surface warfare officer, Carter previously served as the Navy’s working group representative for nuclear nonproliferation policy issues in the Pentagon. He also initiated and led weekly meetings of Service and Joint Staff action officers following the Navy’s selection as lead service for an issue team during an in-depth Department of Defense strategic counterproliferation review.
Carter graduated with Distinction from the U.S. Naval Academy where he was a Trident Scholar. He holds an LLM from Fordham University, an LLM from BPP University, an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business, an MA in National Security Studies from Georgetown University and a PhD from the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies.
