This is a fun little gem. It pairs perfectly with my M4 Mac mini. I added a 2TB SSD to run Windows 11, and it runs both operating systems with no bottleneck. I have almost every port in use without the need for added power, and that is even when also using the display. The display reports having a 2560x1600 resolution, according to macOS. It is so crisp and vibrant! It has a decent viewing angle, but can feel a bit limited if the room is too bright. The display/hub fits very snugly over the M4 mini, with no ports becoming unusable as a result of using the hub on top of the computer. I do set it beside the mini rather than on top of it when I’m gaming, though, but I consider that to be better practice for long term stability anyhow.

All in all, I absolutely recommend this little retro gadget. I can’t wait to see what they make next! I’d happily product test for this brand.

PS. My first unit was partially defective. The screen didn’t work, but they were so quick to replace it that I hadn’t even had time to get the defective one to UPS for it to be returned before the new one arrived.

Works as expected. Good to have thunderbolt capability!

Worked great for a few hours a day in the first month. Would randomly make weird sounds for the next few days whenever plugged in, and then quickly died. It was cute for the brief period of time when it worked, but boy did it brick itself fast!

For a $300+ machine, I expect more than ~60-70 hrs of normal gentle use on a desk. Absolutely Pitiful.

I like having the additional screen for music or small apps while I work. It helps keep distractions contained without having to constantly switch windows or fiddle with my main screen.

You may need to reset it to enable it as a display option, but the instructions are included in the troubleshooting guide. The YouTube instructional video could be clearer in a few spots, but it still walks you through what you need to do.

I can't attest to the function of added storage, but the look of the device is amazing! Love the nostalgia and the functionality. The display is great. Definitely HD. I love playing 80s horror films on it using the Apple TV app, and they look amazing. Super pleased. II'll be over the moon if adding storage works great. Also, so many ports. If you have a Mac Mini, this will add some of the ports you don't have without a Mac Studio.

I hate to do this… it’s such a cool product, but functionally what it is advertised to do ( sit over Mac mini) is completely useless. I have a brand new Mac mini m4 pro and I can’t even watch my university lectures…without baking the Mac mini unit. It’s burning to the touch!! Not a gamer, photo editor or anything. Basic stuff can’t even be done having this product encasing the Mac mini. It has to be set to the side while you use your Mac mini. It’s so cool that I’m still considering keeping it just as a side piece , but I can’t use it how it’s advertised. I can’t believe more people aren’t saying this . I even had a riser with an open belly for the set up and still can’t use the wokyis as advertised. It’s basically a plastic thermal trap on your Mac mini.

Perfektes kleines Teil und natürlich ein Hingucker auf dem Schreibtisch.

Dazu noch die Möglichkeit, eine SSD anzuschließen, mit Thunderbird 5 Schnittstelle (bei meinem Modell so) und noch zusätzliche Anschlussbuchsen.

Muss noch weiter austesten, was ich da so drauf laufen lasse. Aber im Moment klappt schon mal erst alles.

Ich hoffe, es gibt keine Probleme, da die Wärmeabfuhr nach oben natürlich jetzt geblockt ist.

But it’s fun functional and well built, good for the money.
